Plant, water, explore, and learn! Join us in August as we create and care for a sensory garden with the help of new toys in the collection.

Join us this August for a series of hands-on gardening sessions as we bring a sensory garden to life at the library.

Children and families are invited to help plant, water, and care for the garden while exploring the natural world through fun, interactive activities. Each session combines gardening and landcare with opportunities for children to investigate their environment using their five senses, supported by a range of gardening tools and resources from our library collection.

In each session, participants will explore themes of science, sustainability and environmental stewardship through activities that encourage observation, curiosity and connection with nature. Featured toys and resources will help children learn about plants, insects, measurement, identification, and caring for living things.

This project is proudly supported by Inspiring Australia (WA) as part of National Science Week, celebrating the theme "Seeds for Science" and encouraging young people to explore the world growing around them.

Whether you're an experienced gardener or simply curious to get involved, everyone is welcome to help create a vibrant community space while learning, exploring and having fun together.
