Friends of Hopetoun Park and Parwan Gorge are a small community landcare group and a member of the Moorabool Landcare Network.We are located in Victoria alongside the Werribee River between Melton Reservoir to the north and Bacchus Marsh Township to the south. 37°42’16.0″S 144°29’44.0″E Our Vision : To create a green wildlife corridor alongside the Werribee River, adjacent to Hopetoun Park and Parwan Gorge. That can contribute to the resilience of the landscape in a changing climate. Provide habitat for wildlife and recreation areas for the community to enjoy. This group acknowledges the traditional owners Wadawurrung and Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation and their continuing connection to this land, water and it’s community. We pay our respects to traditional owners, their cultures and elders past, present and emerging.

A special interest branch of the Lins Club of Taylors Lakes, which operates with the full support of the Club but autonomously in relation to decisions and projects. Focusing particularly on the 3038 postcode but also into 3037, the group has been formed as a branch of the local Lions Club with a view to improving the overall canopy cover, but also improving the suburban environment, for improved mental and physical health through natural beauty, heat protection and environmental improvement and protection. Group Objectives: Greening – revegetation, shade, native species to the area, appropriate to the needs/requirements of the site Environment – species and habitat protection and creation Advocacy - Corporate, Levels of Government, Private Education - public awareness campaigns, education programs and volunteer involvement Partnering – Other Land Care groups, Friends Of groups, schools, Brimbank Council, local Indigenous groups, etc.
