    Hunter Intrepid Landcare Celebrates
    National Landcare Week 2023   
    Hunter Intrepid Landcare celebrated National Landcare Week 2023 on Saturday, August 12th, with a Landcare session at the Hunter Wetlands Centre, Shortland NSW.
    The vibrant group comprised of a wide age range - from seasoned Landcarers to first-timers, conservation students and professionals. Together, the team made quick work of removing invasive woody weeds from Broad-leaved Paperbark forest - a NSW Endangered Ecological Community. 
    The Hunter Wetlands is a central and accessible site that hosts an array of bird species, reptiles and plants which made it the perfect site for our National Landcare Week Celebration. It's also a National Park and recipient of the International Star Wetland Award for the work in wetland communication, education participation and awareness.

    Our event engaged local volunteers and those who travelled a fair distance to attend, which shows the power of hosting Community Days in line with celebrations and days of significance.
