    It's the shortest month of the year, but it looks to be a busy one! 

    Budjan Galindji (Franklin Reserve) Parkcare Group Work Parties

    First and fourth Wednesdays each month: 1st February, 22nd February, 8.30am - 11.30amThe Budjan Galindji (Franklin Reserve) Parkcare Group is organised by Friends of Grasslands (FOG) and ACT Parkcare. Work parties focus on plant identification and removing weeds, and some planting of grasses and forbs is planned. This is a great opportunity for you to learn about grassland plants and weeds and their management, and how to restore our precious grasslands, including selecting, growing and reintroducing plants. Please register with margaret.ning@fog.org.au.

    Friends of the Pinnacle Weeding Parties (Weetangera)

We work in the reserve's lush woodlands, removing invasive weeds, holding planting events and running guided walks to enjoy the reserve's abundant birds and wildflowers.     Jarramlee Park Landcare Group Working Bees (Dunlop)

    Saturdays, 9.30am Join us for our weekly working bees at Jarramlee Park in Dunlop. Our regular working bees are to recommence again after a Christmas break on 4th February with some expectation that the weather will begin to cool down.     Kuringa Woodland Landcare Group Working Party (Fraser)

    Saturday 4th February, 8.30amOur working parties are friendly informal events to care for Kuringa Woodland in Fraser.     Higgins Landcare Group Weeding Party

    First Saturday of each month: 4th February, 8.30am - 10.30am

    Come join the Higgins Landcare Group for our first monthly weeding party of 2023. Everyone welcome! Let's continue the great restoration work that was started last year in the Brazel/Hudson St Park. Early start to beat the heat.     Friends of Harrison Wetlands Planting Day

    Wednesday 8th February, 5.15pmWe're excited to do some planting in the wetland area between Flemington Road and Wimmera Street. Holes will already be dug, so all we need to do is get the trees in the ground. Kids are very welcome! Meet at the corner of Collaroy and Wimmera Streets.     Meet, Mingle and Make Single - Seedling Thinning Party

    Friday 10th February, 5.30pm - 7.30pm, @ Greening Australia, ArandaFollowing Landcare ACT's Pride Grows Propagation Day last year, we are reconvening at Greening Australia's HQ to thin out the emerging tubestock. Come along to an afterwork get together to enjoy the evening air, meet-up with fellow nature lovers, mingle amongst the tubestock and get those seedlings looking single! Option to kick-on at 10 Yards afterwards for a well earned thirst quencher and/or a bite to eat. This Pride Grows event is jointly supported by Landcare ACT, Greening Australia, ACT NRM and Meridian ACT. Reserve your spot.

    Walk & Talk: Kuringa Woodland Community Information Morning (Fraser)

    Saturday 18th February, 9am - 11amCome along for some morning tea and hear about what's been happening in our local grassy woodland area. All welcome!     Visit suburban Higgins remnant grassland

    Saturday 18th February, 2pm - 4pmFriends of Grasslands is holding a tour of a pocket-sized patch of remnant grassland in Higgins being looked after by a keen group of locals. The group is hoping to get the local suburban mowing regime changed to favour the sward of Themeda triandra (Kangaroo Grass) growing there, as well as the native forb and grass species.
