    Help your local, natural environment in the ACT this May! With lots of different working bees, from tree plantings to walking and weeding, there's something for everyone to get their hands dirty with...

    Mt Rogers Landcare Working Bees (Fraser)

    First Monday each month: 1st May, 9am
    Fourth Sunday each month: 28th May, 9am

    Come along to help treat the priority target weeds or chip in with priority tasks of the day. We usually meet at the main carpark area at Wickens Place, Fraser, but due to the size of the reserve, the meeting places and parking locations may vary each session.     Budjan Galindji (Franklin Reserve) Parkcare Group Work Parties

    First and fourth Wednesdays each month: 3rd May, 24th May, 9am-11.30am
    The Budjan Galindji (Franklin Reserve) Parkcare Group is organised by Friends of Grasslands (FOG) and ACT Parkcare. Work parties focus on plant identification and removing weeds, and some planting of grasses and forbs is planned. This is a great opportunity for you to learn about grassland plants and weeds and their management, and how to restore our precious grasslands, including selecting, growing and reintroducing plants.     Higgins Landcare Group Monthly Weeding & Planting Party

    First Saturday each month: 6th May, 9.30am-11.30am

    Join the Higgins Landcare Group in our efforts to regenerate our hidden gem of a park at Brazel/Hudson St. Everyone welcome!     Umbagong Landcare Group Monthly Working Bee (Latham)

    First Saturday each month: 6th May, morning

    Lions Croke Place Wetlands Landcare Group Work Parties (Evatt)

    Saturday 6th, 13th, 20th May, 10am-12pm
    Join in and help look after Croke Place Wetlands, with planting, mulching, weeding and beautifying this wonderful spot. Make friends, build community and foster biodiversity all at once!     Kuringa Woodland Landcare Group Working Party (Fraser)

    First and third Saturdays each month: 6th May, 20th May, 9.30am
    Our working parties are friendly informal events to care for Kuringa Woodland in Fraser. Activities include control of invasive annual and woody weeds, tree surveys, plantings and restoration.     Friends of Aranda Bushland Monthly Work Party

    First Sunday each month: 7th May, 9am-12pm
    This month volunteers will work in small groups to repair the damaged rollovers on the walking tracks. As it is quite hard work, there is also the option of weeding in the bush. A hearty morning tea is provided at 10.30am. Wear sturdy shoes and a hat, and bring a water bottle.     Friends of Mulligans Flat Working Party (Forde)

    Second Wednesday each month: 10th May
    Come along to help us help Mulligans Flat and Goorooyarroo Nature Reserves with weed removal, erosion control, revegetation and other land management tasks. For more information on how you can be involved, please contact FriendsofMF@hotmail.com or check out our Facebook Group


    Friends of Gossan Hill Work Party (Bruce)

    Saturday 13th May, 3.30pm-5pm
    Come along to help survey the western edge of the Gossan Hill Nature Reserve to look for garden escapees like freesias, lavender, African daisies and also pull out any Cootamundra wattle. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, bring a hat and water, BYO work gloves. Tools provided. Please email gossanhill@hotmail.com for more details.


    Kaleen Open Space Planting Event

    Sunday 21st May, 10am-12pm

    Friends of Mount Painter Monthly Work Party (Cook)

    Third Sunday each month: 21st May, 9am-12pm
    This month join in planting trees and shrubs to expand the wildlife corridor around the west side of the hill. Park on the city-bound side of William Hovell Drive at the end of the long metal guard rail 800m from the Coulter Drive intersection. Follow signs on to the reserve.     Community Volunteering Day at Croke Place Wetlands (Evatt)

    Sunday 20th May, 1pm-3pm
    Lions Croke Place Wetlands Landcare Group invites you to come along and try volunteering! We have planting activities, a wetlands walk, afternoon tea, and a free native plant giveaway. All welcome! Join in at the Croke Place Wetlands in Evatt. Parking available at the end of Croke Place.


    Emu Creek Landcare Group Working Bee (Belconnen)

    Sunday 28th May, from 9am

    North Belconnen Landcare Regular Meetups (Evatt)

    All-ages meetup: Saturdays, 10am-11am
    Landcare for Littlies: Wednesdays, 10am-11am - All ages welcome, but with a focus on Mums, bubs and toddlers. Grandmas welcome, too!
    Times may change depending on weather - please contact us below. Meeting place: After parking in Canaway Place, Evatt, walk about 100m downstream to the tool cage (behind the bushes). Activity this month will mostly be mulching and watering (if the rain stops).     Nicholls Pocket Park Planting Day

    Attention keen Gardeners - Nicholls Pocket Park needs some loving care! You are invited to help restore Nicholls Pocket Park to its former glory. We’ll be planting out a range of native ground covers and small shrubs and providing tips from the Ginninderra Catchment Group and SEE Change Gungahlin team on how to design your own biodiverse gardens.     The Friends of the Pinnacle is a group of volunteers dedicated to making The Pinnacle Nature Reserve even more beautiful. We work in the reserve's lush woodlands, removing invasive weeds, holding planting events and running guided walks to enjoy the reserve's abundant birds and wildflowers.
