World Environment Day Squirrel Glider Planting Success

Wow! What a day!!! Our 2024 World Environment Day Squirrel Glider Habitat Planting at Glenrock SCA was a roaring success!

In partnership with NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, it was an awesome day engaging with our community members.

The beautiful sunny day encouraged a great turn out of keen volunteers - kids, families and friends - all coming together to plant native tubestock and be part of the #GenerationRestoration.

With a range of Eucalypts, Corymbias and Acacais - grown by our native nursery - to support our local population of threatened Squirrel Gliders, our wonderful community volunteers managed to plant 1000 tubestock over 2 planting sessions!!!

Check out that massive "tube snake" which according to our littler volunteers, "it could touch the sky!"

A big thank you to everyone who joined in! We appreciate the time and energy given by new and existing volunteers alike.

Special shout-out to Hunter Intrepid Landcare & the Newcastle Uni Student Enviro Club (NUSEC) for supporting the younger generations in participating in this community planting

Can't wait for next year's installment!
