Event Overview

Time to prepare for rabbit control…

To assist landholders in controlling rabbits, Landscapes Hills and Fleurieu is holding five rabbit control information sessions across the region in the first two weeks of December 2023.

Register Here.

Did you know that two rabbits can multiply to 184 in just 18 months?! If not controlled, feral rabbits can cause immense damage to the landscape, decimating vegetation and causing soil erosion.

Book now for free Rabbit Control Information Sessions

We [Landscapes Hills and Fleurieu] will be running free Rabbit Control Information Sessions during December to help set you up for a successful control program over summer.

These sessions will help you to better understand rabbit behaviour and show you how to use this information to bait effectively and safely. You will learn how to use Pindone and K5 calicivirus, plus get tips on how to deter rabbits from establishing on your property.

Rabbit Bait and Virus Distribution (February and March 2024)

We [Landscapes Hills and Fleurieu] will be holding a number of Rabbit Bait and Virus Distribution Days in February and March 2024. That is the perfect time of year to bait rabbits, due to the dry conditions and low feed availability.

  • Round 1 (5-16 Feb) - Pindone-treated carrots OR RHDV K5-treated carrots. (Note K5-treated carrots can’t be frozen or stored so you will need to be ready to use them when you pick them up.)
  • Round 2 (12-21 Mar) - Pindone-treated carrots only.

Bookings are not yet open for the bait days but if you wish to participate, please phone us on 8391 7500 to register your interest.
