In 2022, the carbon industry in Australia is finally offering attractive competitive returns to agricultural land managers to install plantation style carbon plantings. These plantings do not usually contribute to food production resources for the world’s rapidly expanding population. Australian farmers sit at crossroads unsure which pathway forward best protects Australia’s food security whilst also accounting for the world’s dire environmental situation.
