In 2000, Terry McCosker, one of the one of the great innovators of Australian agriculture, published a paper entitled ‘Cell Grazing: the first 10 years in Australia’. The paper described the industry paradigm shift in grazing management that occurred over the 10 years, and presented compelling results from properties adopting the practice. In this presentation, Terry shares his key findings from a review of cell grazing management over the last 20 years that have followed - and the benefits for land owners. Data mined from many properties, over several years, is described, covering the effect of paddock subdivision; practice adoption of subdivision over time and how the data enables us to quantify the business case for investment in paddock infrastructure.
