Katanning Landcare in Western Australia has not only been instrumental in restoring degraded land, but has also developed a viable paddock to plate supply chain in the bush foods industry. Transforming the challenges of salt-affected land into a thriving enterprise, the project’s new teaching resources encourages saline-land farmers across Southern Australia to join this supply chain, diversifying farm income and increasing agricultural production. Examining and learning from native saline-soil plants to create a reliable food supply, Katanning Landcare are also investigating whether the increased vegetative growth is contributing to soil health, and if the drawdown of watertables for shadehouse water supply impacts soil salinity.Presenter: Ella Maesepp. PowerPoint slides: Restoring Degraded Saline Land Through the Development of a Saline Bush Foods Paddock-to-Plate Supply Chain.#HabitatRestorationRevegetation#Permaculture#NativeFloraFauna#RegenerativeAgriculture#FarmingAgricultureLandManagement#Bushcare#SoilHealth#ThisWorksHere#Salinity#WA#NationalLandcareConference#LandcareConf21
