Given the historical affiliation with building townships on the banks of mighty rivers, our urban environment brings challenges and opportunities. To address the issues and opportunities in shaping the future management of the Goulburn and Broken rivers, and the surrounding red gum floodplains between Shepparton and Mooroopna, the RiverConnect project was established.This presentation outlines how in 2005 the community, government and land managers, alongside the traditional owners of the land, worked in partnership to protect and enhance the value of our rivers.
