The Ecohort Pty Ltd Team has been doing some great work in the Cattai Creek Catchment, restoring a 150-meter long section of Cattai Creek and increasing the resilience of the endangered ecological community, River-flat Eucalypt Forest (RFEF). After undertaking the removal of woody, climbing, and herbaceous weeds over a 0.6-hectare area, they are now in the process of planting local native shrubs, climbers & groundcovers, in the low resilience areas. They have also undertaken secondary weeding & the ecological burning of 45 x RFS compliant, piles of the dried-out and treated woody & climbing weeds, to stimulate the germination of fire responsive, local native, RFEF plants. So far there has also been excellent natural regeneration of a diverse range of RFEF plants in the more resilient bushland parts, of the site, in response to the primary and secondary weeding, and in the burned piles. Thank you to Ecohort for contributing to the restoration and resilience of these endangered ecological communities within the Cattai Creek Catchment. Image found on Fix The Bush
