    Riparian Workshops with Hastings Landcare 
    September 19th & 30th

    Come and join Hastings Landcare to learn about river and stream bank resilience and the wildlife that call these areas home. We will be hosting two workshops this September in collaboration with Local Land Services, SES, Charles Sturt University, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and Andrew Turbill; a specialist in landscape-scale ecological perspectives and communicating the science and impacts of climate change on Gondwana World Heritage rainforest ecosystems.
    Workshop 1- WAUCHOPE
    Tuesday 19th at Wauchope Arts Hall will include:
    • Information on permits and permission for carrying out works in riparian areas
    • Best management practices for riparian zones
    • Preparing for natural disasters and community resilience planning
    • Frogs – key feature of frog habitat as indicator species for environmental health
    Jointly funded by the Australian and NSW governments, Landcare NSW's People Led Prevention project empowers communities across regional NSW in developing disaster resilience and preparedness skills.

    Workshop 2 - ROLLANDS PLAINS

    Saturday 30th at Rollands Plains Art Hall will include:
    • Information on permits and permissions for carrying out works in riparian areas
    • Best management practices for riparian zones
    • The impacts of climate change on rainforest ecosystems
    • Weed identification and management
    Funded by the Landcare Riparian Restoration Grants program is supported by Local Land Services with funding from the NSW Government's $200 million Regional Recovery Package
