Landcare Tasmania are pleased to invite you to a free workshop to learn about ecological restoration!
Ecological restoration aims to assist the recovery of ecosystems which have been disturbed. Environmental actions such as fires or floods, invasive species, salinity and erosion are just some of things which can alter or damage an ecosystems’ structure and function.
Our guest presenter will be restoration expert Todd Dudley, who will talk to us in detail about ecological restoration. The workshop will include a visit to a nearby private property with examples of different vegetation types, including native forest, riparian zones, pasture and plantation, all of which have different ecological needs.
This workshop will give you practical knowledge and skills to undertake your own restoration projects. Whether you have your own project or are simply interested in learning more about ecosystems and natural values of your area, this will be a beneficial workshop for anyone who is wanting to restore, improve, and benefit from their local patch.
Please wear clothing and footwear suited to the outdoors.
