Plants of the Plains Opening Night | The Spot

Event Overview

Local art space, The Spot, will come to life with an exhibition celebrating Hay Plains flora early next month.

A collaboration between Hay Art and Murrumbidgee Landcare, the Plants of the Plains exhibition will open at 6pm on Friday, November 4 and feature over 40 works created by a diverse group of artists in a range of mediums around the theme 'native plants of the Hay Plains’.

Exhibition co-ordinator Alix McFarland said there could not have been a better season to celebrate the plant life right in our own “backyard”. “Who could’ve foreseen what a phenomenal season it was going to be for the Hay Plains when we first discussed the idea late last year,” Alix said.

“Above average and well timed rainfall has meant our native plants are thriving and in abundance at the moment.

“We’re even experiencing discoveries of rare and significant plant species that have not been seen in this area for a number of years.”

“We want to extend a warm welcome to everyone to join us on opening night to celebrate our unique and beautiful plants of the plains.”

Entry to ‘Plants of the Plains’ opening night is a gold coin. Light refreshments will be provided and the exhibition will be at The Spot until Sunday November 20. For further information, please contact Alix McFarland on 0428 963824.
