The Cumberland Plain Woodland Restoration Program aims to carry out ecological and cultural burning across Western Sydney; to carry out habitat enhancement; and to carry out community engagement and actions. Local Landcare Coordinator Xuela Sledge unpacks the importance of partnership for Program resilience and success, as well as how building the knowledge and skills of volunteers, groups, landholders, Councils, NPWS and other organisations can not only ensure more upskilled Landcarers but also a more evolved understanding that ecological fire can be an effective restoration and climate change mitigation tool.
