Anna Charlton-Shick

She has an integral role in managing and implementing environmental restoration projects on the ground, often working directly with local landcare groups and volunteers, overseeing field activities like weed control, native plant planting, habitat restoration, and monitoring environmental indicators within designated project areas; essentially acting as the on-site coordinator for Landcare projects across various regions.

She said “At Landcare Australia I have many roles including writing reports, flying drones, managing and treating weeds, plantings trees, direct seeding, GIS, CEV, managing feral animals such as foxes and goats”.

In what ways would you like to see the Australian landcare movement March Forward?

I would like to see landcare embrace empowering women/girls (particularly those who are vulnerable or from remote communities) in science, in agriculture, in sustainability to provide hands on experience in the field and inspire the next great careers, leaders and environmental advocates.
